The International School has worked
in the school field since 1980. It can be considered at all levels an alpha
media school, in which all can learn to read and write languages and historical
cultures from the alphabet to the multimedia, we could actually talk of “three
cultures” at work inasmuch as the curriculum integrates humanistic,
scientific and multimedia culture.
Its main prerogative
is welcoming and getting involved foreign and non-foreign children in the school
framework with the purpose of promoting intercultural relationships and the
acquisition of human knowledge. One of our goals is that of developing through
innovative interventions, proposals that will allow to promote children’s
and teenagers rights and to ensure those opportunities indispensable for an
adequate human development process which leads to building a complete personality.
These proposals become
a reference point in which students, during school time can exercise their need
of playing in safe spaces and within the area of controlled chaperoned socialization,
having access to a series of unusual playing and creative opportunities. This
exploitation of creative playing has the aim of accomplishing an important work
pedagogic prophylaxis.
On the basis of these
convictions the“

“
project is born
with the purpose of promoting interculture through the creative use of ludic
and multimedia instruments. The project is born and develops as a natural extension
of our philosophy and gets the whole school community involved.
Highly qualified, it
is due to them the creation of the International School
of Lago Patria, an institute born with the purpose of promoting interculture
through teaching and playing:

TEACHING STAFF
It is made up of graduates
with notable experience in the field of education and didactics. Most of the
staff is specialized in animation techniques related to reading, comic-strips
and hands-on activities.
Every teacher has a double
task: following one’s own class in didactics and combine one’s own
subject to other teachers yearly plans.
This is made possible
through the adoption of a schedule accurately conceived in order to foster cooperation
among the teachers (interdisciplinary teaching). The multimedia field
greatly encouraged because as it is applied to didactics, it can lead to more
satisfying results compared to traditional methods. Multimediality and interactivity
greatly enhance the teaching mechanisms according to logics which is not solely
additional: man, child included, remembers 10% of what he sees, 20% of what
he hears, 50% of what he sees and hears (multimediality)
and 80% of what he hears, sees and does (interactivity).
